Speaking of new beginnings, as most of you know, Mitch and I went to Utah last week to visit his family. We spent time with Grandpa Sherm and The Morris family. I seriously married into the best family ever! I love them ALL so much and we had such a blast together. I think we need to make this an annual visit (at least!). While we were there, Mitch and I went snowboarding. It was my first time ever! It was a pretty cool and fun experience, although by the end of the trip I felt like I was going to fall apart. We ended up going farther than we planned, and took 3 1/2 hours to get back to the bottom of the mountain. It would have helped if I glided down rather than looking like a deformed slinky. I think I spent most of our time on either my bum or my face! But Mitch was such a great sport. He is really what made the whole experience worth it. He was so patient and understanding. We spent a lot of our time holding hands as he helped lead me down the mountain. I married well :) Here is a picture from our day:
So, as you can tell we had a blast! One thing I forgot to mention was how beautiful it was up there. It was snowing the whole time we were there, which made it so soft and peaceful and gorgeous. We really were blessed and had so much fun!
This was the start to our beautiful new journey. Our last night of the trip, I had a very vivid dream which proved to come true when we went home. We wanted everyone to know that:
So, in my dream I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Mitch and I were so excited. When I woke up, the dream seemed so real I could still feel the excitement that we had. So, naturally when we went home I took a pregnancy test. The first one I took is on top. I was NOT expecting it to be positive. So, when the line appeared, I called Mitch over and showed him. We both smiled at each other and I asked him if what I was seeing was real. We hugged and I cried and I think we were both kind of in shock. We had to use a First Response test just make sure it was real. That's the one on the bottom confirming our great news. So, right now we've calculated that our due date is October 24th. We have an appointment to see my doctor on March 7th for our very first ultrasound! We are so excited to start our family and felt like the timing was just right. It's amazing how the Lord can touch your heart and just give you such a sense of peace when you're making major life decisions. Mitch and I both new that it was time to start our family, and the Lord has blessed us with a sweet little baby that is on it's way. I'm excited to go through this journey and share all of our experiences with those we love, and that love us enough to come back and check on baby's progress! I will keep everyone posted on how things go!
